Our beloved BoardBooster is shutting down!
If you are using the BoardBooster platform then you probably got an email this morning about BoarBooster’s announcement that they are shutting their doors after four years 😭.
But why you ask?
Pinterest is cracking down on “non-approved official Pinterest partners.”
If you didn’t see it, the email read:
We have some sad news to share. BoardBooster will shut down on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 after four exciting years. We were always focused on listening to our users and helping them succeed on Pinterest. Unfortunately, BoardBooster’s approach to pinning is no longer allowed. Our attempts to obtain the official partner status for BoardBooster did not work out, so it’s time to move on. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause to you!
Your BoardBooster account will be available through June 27th in case you want to print out your reports or invoices. Then BoardBooster will stop pinning and all sensitive data will be securely deleted. We’re going to process all due refunds over the next 30 days.

You will not see any more charges from BoardBooster, and any due refunds will be processed within 30 days.If you like, you can still sign in to your BoardBooster account and view your reports or invoices. The website will be available until noon CST tomorrow (June 28th, 2018). Then we will shut down the website and delete all sensitive data.

So what does that mean for us bloggers that have been working hard to keep our Pinterest accounts in tip-top shape with this wonderful little scheduler?
If you don’t know already, Tailwind and Pinterest are like BFFs! The cool kids…
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Tailwind. I love how visual it is and that you can actually see the pins you are scheduling rather than just the URLs.
I love all the analytics that come along with the platform and the ease of sharing to group boards.
I also love the Tailwind Tribes, which are specifically designed to help bloggers share content with one another.
What I didn’t love about Tailwind (and why I was using BoardBooster) was that there was no way to put together “set it and forget it” type of campaigns like you could with BoardBooster.
HOWEVER, Tailwind has been quick to act to fix this gap in their service in light of BoardBooster’s untimely demise.
If you have been on the Tailwind dashboard lately, you might have noticed a new Beta feature that they are rolling out.
The purpose of the SmartLoop is to “automatically repost your top evergreen content or seasonal content using customizable rules to reliably keep your account active with a one-time setup.”
Sounds a lot like BoardBooster campaigns to me…
But none the less.
My hope with this new feature is that they do not jack up the price.
I LOVE the feature of the Tribes, but I currently only use the free version cuz I don’t want to fork over any more cash. So hear us out Tailwind, DON’T GOUGE US FOR THIS NEW FEATURE!
I know one of the things that freaked me out about BoarBooster is after I had gotten all my campaigns set up it was supposed to cost me like $100+ per month!
Everyone says “get on group boards” but what they don’t tell you is to manually pin to all of them (I am up to 60+ now) takes all freaking day! To set them up in campaigns can cost a fortune!
So if you have all of your campaigns set up in BoardBooster, you might be sitting there freaking out a bit, thinking, I’m never going to get anything else done now cuz I’m going to be spending all of my time pinning!
Hold onto your panties and take a deep breath!
Remember, Tailwind is responding to this.
So first of all, make sure you know what you currently have set up for your campaigns in BoardBooster. Which source boards go to which group boards, how many times per day they are pinning, where things are being repinned to, etc.
I am simply taking screenshots of everything that I have set up so when the SmartLoop is live I have a reference.
As of 6/25/18 you will need to apply for the SmartLoop as a Beta feature (just like when they rolled out Tribes).
There is a quick Typeform survey you have to fill out to apply.

Now, after you have applied for the SmartLoop, go through your blog and take out all the mentions of BoardBooster! Yup, I’m still working on this, as with everything, it’s a process!
